Ayurveda is the science of life. Yoga is the science of union. It can be said that Yoga is the spiritual side of Ayurveda, and Ayurveda is the practical side of Yoga. Together they create a comprehensive approach to well-being for the mind, body, and soul.

Experience Includes:

  • Ayurvedic Education and Cooking Class (Ayurvedic Handouts & Recipes included)

  • Nourishing organic plant-based Ayurvedic lunch (that we will make together)

  • Self-Care Strategies based on your Ayurvedic Body/Mind Type and Imbalance (we will discuss how to identify)

What’s on the menu for April 27, 2025? Kitchari, an Ayurvedic Comfort food, a full meal, creamy in texture, light, yet nourishing and sustaining. Learn to make this simple, delicious, and nourishing cleanse friendly food that have unlimited variations.

Highly popular in South Asia with innumerable variations, kitchari is a dish of rice and legumes. In India, it is not only the first solid food that they give to babies, but it is also used when cleansing and detoxifying the body of seasonal residual impurities. Kitchari is ideal when trying to reset the overall digestive system and can be used anytime of the year or day, depending on the chosen preparation and ingredients.

You may notice, overtime, that the regular use of kitchari may improve your mental functions, like clearer and sharper thinking, as well as balance your emotions. Most of us know the hyped feeling that comes from consuming (too much) sugar, the heavy and dull feelings from excess dairy, fats, red meat, or the un-grounded and unfocused effects from too much raw food and fruit juice.

Kitchari may be the most perfect therapeutic recipe of all because it detoxifies the entire system while kindling the body’s digestive fires, called “agni.” This said, it is not recommended to eat only kitchari day in and day out—except in special cases of debilitating illness with low agni and loss of appetite. Kitchari alone, even though nutritious, will not supply every nutrient that the average, healthy working person needs. Used wisely though, it will complement your daily diet and support your health regimen.

Come discover how Ayurveda can help bring more joy and ease into your daily life through practical and accessible self-care strategies.
